getting ready was one of my favorite moments of our day

the world just stopped

being fussed over is a real luxury

suzy combed and fixed my tresses

dearest sibling kim painted my facade

and fluffed out my dress one layer at a time ( she crawed underneath! )

our bouquets were presented

after their long trek from pretoria

i didn't want any cut flowers

and succulents seemed the ultimate solution

( bouquet has been planted at my parents home in pretoria, and its just sprouted tiny pink blossoms )

the maike/maaikes dropped in

and the tête-à-têtes began

smiles and elation abound all round

it was mizzy outside

but the curtains blew pockets of salty wind into the front room

and kept us crisp

whilst prizing us with ocean'scapes

and i couldn't stop thinking about the man waiting at the end of the garden path
